MU2 Timeline Count Down

  • Jan 2011: MU Stage 1 launched for participation
  • Aug 2012: MU Stage 2 rules finalized
  • Oct 2012: MU Stage 2 launched (12 month attestation period)
  • Aug 2013: IngagePatient TESTING for MU 2 certification
  • Dec 2013: MU Stage 1 participation ends
  • Jan 2014: 1st day in 2014: 90-day attestation period
  • Oct 2014: Last day in 2014: 90-day attestation period and ICD-10 launch
  • Jan 2015: MU Stage 3 finalized and Medicare payment reduction begins
  • Jan 2016: MU Stage 3 attestation begins
  • Dec 2016: Reimbursement ends

October 1, 2014 will be the last day for Eligible Providers to start the 90-day attestation period of MU2.
Meaningful Use Stage 3 will require more validation of outcomes expanding the need for meaningful patient engagement.
